josephmiglino at Seattle CellarsThe Seattle Cellars Wine Tasting on the 19th was a good afternooon on a less than perfect day!  Donatello Nobatti…. but you can taste wine even when the sun doesn’t shine!  Just ask Joseph!

Tuesday Cellars winemaker Joseph Miglino even brought a barrel sample of the 2008 Elephant Mountain Syrah to the 9/19 tasting – it was great!  Don’t miss out on this one…ask about purchasing Martedi Wines Wine Futures and be the first to get a bottle of the 2008 Syrah upon release.

The Arista Wine Cellars  event this afternoon (9/26) was a big hit!  Blue skies and incredible wines makes for a perfect afternoon.

Upcoming Events for Martedi Wines, the Creators of Tuesday Cellars No. 11 Red

The word is out and the tastings have begun.   Please do your palate a favor and check out these upcoming presentations of the wines of Joseph Miglino of Martedi Wines and have the opportunity to talk with the winemaker, himself.   That alone is “worth the price of admission” and always proves to be highly entertaining.

While you are there ask Joseph about the 2009 Crush!  The excitement is rising with the delivery of fruit from Washington’s Columbia Valley for the 2009  Syrah with 2009 Riesling not far behind.  Our fruit is ripening early this year, as compared to 2008, but Joseph and his team are ready to go.

The new barrel room has been prepared providing much needed room within the Winery for a 60% increase in productiP1010077Alteredon for 2009.  Many thanks to Tom & Bev, GG, Vinny, Francisco, Gepetto, the Prince & Princess of New England and all of you that follow your hearts and understand that“if you believe it you will see it”.    Thanks for taking us along, Joseph!!  D.N.

Tuesday Cellars No. 11 Red Wine — $16.50 (Arriving mid-September)
Joseph Miglino has worn various hats in the Northwest wine business for a number of years, in all instances wearing them with integrity and an insistence on quality as the bottom line. It’s no surprise then, that his new venture should reflect those ideals. In short, this is quality wine — at a modest price, something in far too short supply where Washington wines are concerned. There’s plenty of robust fruit, but it’s not overdone. Characteristic hints of brush and gravel sing harmony to the main theme of ripe black cherry and cassis fruit. A kiss of wood adds texture and seasoning, but plays a well-balanced supporting role. Rounded out with firm acidity and medium tannins, this is a thoroughly enjoyable bottle of Washington red. All bodes well for future efforts from this winery.

I don’t know about all of you out there in Washington State,  but there seems to be something really fantastic happening in the Hills of Monroe and on the palates of those lucky enough to find this fabulous wine!

Check with your local wine shop, favorite restaurant or grocery store and ask for Tuesday Cellars!  Or leave me a comment and we will get you in touch with the vintner himself!   DN

From Humble Beginnings comes Tuesday Cellars

Individually Chosen

From a dream often dreamt among the vines of Eastern Washington comes an undiscovered winemaker with an incredible offering.  Martedi Wines, the love child of Joseph Miglino has gone from a dream to reality this week with Seattle’s discovery of their first release, Tuesday Cellars 2007 No. 11 Red Wine  as reported by Seattle Metropolitan Magazine: Selecting Great Wine on Fox Channel Q13.

TuesdayCellars Label

According to the owner of Seattle Cellars in Belltown, WA Scott Haugh, Joseph’s style is distinct and restrained; the wine is concentrated and masculine with great structure, but approachable and doesn’t hit you over the head with either fruit or oak. It opens with plenty of blackberry and cassis, and then rounds it out with notes of dark chocolate, tobacco, and pencil shavings. 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Syrah.

So where can you get this wonderful vintage?  Well if you are in Washington State, I would suggest contacting Scott at Seattle Cellars www.seattlecellars.com or call big brother John Miglino.

He’s sure to “make you an offer you can’t refuse“!  P1010121

Or maybe a good deal on a home mortgage loan.

Either way you are sure to be in good……

 In good hands!

And as always, Donatello Nobatti.  Enjoy!
